MORE MILLENNIALS CHOOSE FREELANCE POSITIONS
With long-term unemployment numbers still high, many millennials are becoming free agents and are taking on several part-time positions to create the equivalent of a full-time paycheck.
A study by Elance reported that out of 3,000 independent workers surveyed, 47.3 percent were members of the millennials generation.
26 percent of those young Americans surveyed had full-time positions and were using freelance jobs to supplement their paycheck.
WHY WE SHOULD CARE
This report helps to counter the stereotype that young Americans are lazy, as it shows that they are willing to use their drive and creativity to craft their own career.
