A recent study done at the University of St Andrews found that there is still a negative stigma attached to tattoos, especially in the workplace.
Though 1 in 5 people have a tattoo in the UK, a broad range of employers were worried that people with such body art would be considered “dirty,” “thugs,” and “abhorrent.”
However, this intolerance for tattoos is most prevalent in older demographics.
Why we should care
Millennials are most likely to have tattoos, according to the Pew Research Center. Roughly 40 percent of our generation has one.
