THE FACTS
Harvard University and MIT will be offering courses available online for free through the edX platform, and are hoping that other universities will follow suit.
While students won’t be able to claim they actually took Harvard or MIT courses, the information taught and the materials will be the same as those provided by the prestigious universities – giving everyone affordable access to a high quality education.
