How to Change Time on G Shock

by James Williams

We all have experienced the pain of setting our watches to the wrong time before. I'm sure you know how frustrating it is when your watch is set an hour or two behind, so you can't tell what time it really is! I have found a way to avoid this problem by using my phone's alarm clock function.

The easiest way to change the time on a G-Shock is by using the crown. Simply pull it out until you can feel that it stops, then turn counterclockwise or clockwise depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the time.

How to adjust time on G-shock analog and digital

The first thing to know is that the analog and digital models are different. Analog watches use a light sensor to tell time, but digital watches don't. If you have an analog watch, you'll need to adjust it manually every day (or week) for daylight savings time or standard time. For example, if it's currently 8:00 am on Sunday morning and your watch reads 7:30 am- this means that your watch is 30 minutes fast because of daylight savings adjustment. You can fix this by pressing the "SET" button on your G-SHOCK until the current hour matches what you see on the face of the clock - in this case 9:00 AM.

  1. Turn the watch upside down and press the button with a screwdriver
  2. Press "mode" to select analog or digital mode
  3. Press "hour," then use the arrows in order to adjust time on g-shock analog and digital
  4. To exit, press "mode" again

G-Shock has a quartz crystal that keeps accurate time, but sometimes you need to adjust it. This is done by turning the adjustment knob.

To set the time on a G-Shock Mudmaster, you must first push and hold down the "mode" button for two seconds. Once this has been done, use the arrow buttons to go from 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM. You then want to press "mode" again in order to get into setting mode. The next step is going through each of the settings until you find what looks like a clock symbol with an hour hand and minute hand on it. This will be one of your options so tap it once after this point, and select your desired option from there.

  1. Press and hold button A for 3 seconds
  2. Use the second hand to set the time by pressing B when it reaches 12 o'clock
  3. Repeat until you have reached your desired time
  4. Press and hold button C for 3 seconds to exit setting mode
  5. To turn on backlight, press D once or twice (depending on how long you want it to stay lit)
  6. The light will shut off after a certain period of inactivity (no buttons pressed)

In order to set the time on a G-Shock Mudmaster, first press left button to enter setting mode. Press Down button until you see Time Setting. Press Right 2 times and then press Left until you have "Hour" selected.

If you're like me, you might be wondering how long your G-Shock watch will last on a single battery. I have found that my G-Shock watches typically stay running for about 3 years before the battery needs to be replaced. This is because of the power saving features that are built into the watch, which allow it to run more efficiently when not in use by turning off any unused functions and modes. If you find yourself with a dead battery in your G-Shock watch, don't worry! You can easily replace it at home without having to take it to a specialty store or sending it away for repairs.

Conclusion:

If you're looking to change the time on your G-Shock watch, don't worry. You can easily do this by removing and replacing the battery without tools or opening any of the case backings. The first step is simple; just unscrew the four screws that hold in place both halves of your watch band with a screwdriver. Next, remove one half at a time from around your wrist and replace it with its opposite side so you can access all three buttons located under each strap loop (watch face up). Pressing these buttons will allow you to cycle through different display modes until you find what corresponds to 12 hour AM/PM format for military timing.
