WASHINGTON, DC – “OurTime with Matthew Segal” on SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S. this past weekend took an in-depth look at education in America today.  From K-12 public schools to the mounting student loan debt crisis and the gap in education inequality for students of color, host Matthew Segal interviewed three prominent guests each with their own unique perspective on reforming America’s education system.

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley kicked off the show with a discussion of the business of the student loans.  O’Malley clearly states in his interview, I think that student loans should not be a profit source.”  You can hear a clip of Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley’s interview on “OurTime with Matthew Segal”, here.

Former Chancellor of DC Public Schools, Michelle Rhee, told Matthew Segal that she doesn’t believe we are getting an excellent return on investment from spending more money on public education, which is a point of much controversy among K-12 experts. Rhee states emphatically that, “we should absolutely be looking at where and how our money is being spent.”  To hear more of Michelle Rhee’s interview, please click here.
